After taking time off to focus on his family, Michael Bublé is back, and opening up about his son’s battle with cancer.

In a new interview with The Today Show Bublé said receiving the news that his son Noah had been diagnosed with liver cancer was ‘the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being.’

The Canadian crooner and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, first revealed their son’s illness in 2016.

Bublé says both he and his wife struggled to cope with the reality that their then three-year-old son was ill.

“There were a million times that my wife and I were just surviving, struggling to survive, and to breathe,” he said.

“There were a million times that my wife and I were just surviving, struggling to survive, and to breathe,” he said. “I much rather would it have been me. Many times I wish that it had been me.”

Bublé said the support from his family, friends and fans gave the couple strength.

“More times than people can understand, some days when we wished we didn’t wake up, when we did, we felt the love of those people.

“We knew they were praying for us, we knew that there was goodness out there. It gave us faith in humanity.”

Now five, Noah is healthy and the young family is thriving.

Along with their two-year-old son, Elias, Bublé and his wife welcomed their third child, a daughter named Vida, in July.
